Hands-Free CPR
In recent years, a number of devices have been released that create the option of performing hands-free CPR. They provide a number of benefits to the rescuer and the individual that had the heart attack.
The biggest benefit is that they are exceptionally accurate. With the new Red Cross CPR rules, it is very difficult for a lifeguard or other rescuer to get in 100 compressions in a minute. In addition, studies indicate that a rescuer starts to become tired after just one minute of performing CPR. When the rescuer becomes tired, the accuracy of the compressions becomes less. In addition, the rescuer might not be able to give the person enough of a compression to circulate blood effectively.
Hands-free CPR machines, on the other hand, are not subject to fatigue. They are machines that are capable of performing CPR on a needy victim for as long as necessary. In addition to their ability to keep going, they are exceptionally accurate. They are programmed to provide exactly 100 compressions in a minute. Also, they will compress the chest to the correct depression. This, in many cases, can be altered depending on who the victim is.
The greatest benefit may be that the hands-free CPR systems give the rescuers the opportunity to address any other issues in the area. As an example, the rescuers are freed up to control the crowds, call 911, and ensure that the victim is safe in as many ways as possible.
